How ITIL® 4 is different from ITIL® 2011

ITIL is one of the most sought-after frameworks & practices for IT service management. it is implemented in almost every industry in the present day. ITIL helps users to line up their IT services and business requirements and allows them to create an environment of continual service improvement ensuring that the highest rated end-products and services could be delivered.

After realizing and acknowledging some fixations in the previous versions, ITIL 4 was announced at the ITSMF USA Fusion 2017 conference by AXELOS Global Best Practice. This community driven version is designed to improve on the previous ITIL frameworks.

ITIL 4 is more industry friendly and community-driven than the previous versions. This new version of ITIL, ITIL 4 is developed to build a more rational and rewarding framework. AXELOS has integrated a few but important other practices and frameworks, for example Agile, Lean and DevOps, thereby making ITIL 4 an adaptable tool, much better suited to the current ITSM requirements.

Path to ITIL 4 training and certification is quite different from its previous counterparts. Earlier, the candidates had to attain an ITIL Foundation certification before considering or attempting intermediate modules and then go for the ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC) module. In the new version, ITIL 4 the candidates could choose from two verticals after the foundation module – ITIL Managing Professional (MP) and ITIL Strategic Leader (SL). Both of the streams comprise of various modules, required to be passed in order to achieve the concerned certification. After acquiring intermediate modules, a candidate is eligible to consider and attempt to get the rank of ITIL Master.

A new online batch of ITIL 4 training & certification is scheduled from 6 June 2021 by NetLabs ITS.
